Every new “G” of mobile evolution comes on top of lessons learned from current “G”, plus a significant element of technology disruption to shape the new radio access and core networks.
This talk will introduce wireless technology evolution for mobile devices towards 2030 from a consumer device perspective, including enhancements to 5G and key disruptive technology elements for the 6G era.
Specific technical areas to be addressed will include mobile device architecture evolution, WAN and proximity connectivity across different types of spectrums, and convergence across compute and communication including AI native design considerations.
Dr. Mingxi Fan, Mediatek
Dr. Mingxi Fan is currently the general manager of communication system design at Mediatek, Inc., leading worldwide commercial wireless system and firmware development, advanced research and standardization across cellular and connectivity, and strategic products.
Previously he was the head of strategy at XCOM Labs Inc. driving innovation and ecosystem partnership in wireless edge computing.
